I wanted to create a post about this documentary after reading Dave's entry about Brazilian docs. This film is actually on the special features of the City of God dvd. Although I thought City of God was amazing, I was even more impressed with the documentary about the present day social problems in Rio's slums. Here's a brief synopsis:

Documentary about urban violence in Brazil, especially in Rio de Janeiro. Policemen, drug dealers, and shantytown dwellers get trapped into a daily war that knows no winners.
