More thoughts on Ganga Bruta

I agree with John that the cinematography in this film is innovative. I never expected to see actual moving camera work besides the occasional slow pan. There was one shot that I remember being done with a crane (though I can't remember exactly what the shot was of). The trolley shots were impressive because the train was obviously moving. The shots were also impressive because they were done on location, in very tight spaces with bulky equipment. The story was interesting in that it obviously would never have been made in the US during the thirties. I wasn't quite sure what the repeated images of the gargoyle were meant to symbolize if anything. Nonetheless, I was impressed with the on location shooting.
